Dr. Irvin’s Story

Dr. Maurice Irvin was born in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, into a devoutly Christian family. He came to faith in Christ as a child and, from an early age, felt called to the Christian ministry. Married in 1951, he and his wife had four children, two of whom are now already in heaven.

He was educated at Nyack College (Diploma), Taylor University (BA), The University of Kentucky (MA), and Case Western Reserve University (PhD).

He began pastoral ministry in Newton, Iowa, and then pastored churches in Kentucky, Ohio, California, New York, and Pennsylvania. For 14 years he was editor-in chief of Alliance Life magazine; and, since 1996, he has served an an interim pastor in 8 different churches. He remains active in preaching and teaching ministries.

While a pastor and editor, Dr. Irvin has served as an adjunct professor at several different schools. In addition, he has preached and taught in churches, conferences, and camps in more than 50 countries. He has authored 5 books and numerous magazine articles.

Currently, he lives in Norwalk, CT.

After many years of pastoral ministry, writing and editing, and teaching at colleges and seminaries, Dr. Irvin has made many of his insightful and helpful Bible studies and essays available in these video series. Dr. Irvin has preached and taught in churches, camps, conferences and schools throughout North America and in some 50 countries around the world. He has authored five books and many, many magazine articles. You will find these studies to be rich in Biblical content while being practically applicable to daily living.
